Getting there
The St Lucia campus is about 7 km from Brisbane’s city centre.
- From Brisbane Airport: take the Airtrain to the city, then continue by bus or CityCat, or take a taxi or rideshare (about 30–40 minutes).
- By CityCat ferry: the UQ St Lucia terminal is a short walk from the Advanced Engineering Building.
- By bus: frequent buses run from the city to the UQ Lakes and Chancellor’s Place stops on campus.
- By car: paid visitor parking is available on campus.

Visa and invitation letters
International participants should check visa requirements early, as processing can take several weeks.
If you need a letter of invitation for your visa application, email [email protected] with:
- your full name as it appears in your passport,
- your affiliation and position,
- your passport number and nationality,
- your abstract reference number, if you have submitted one.
Invitation letters are issued to registered participants and presenting authors.
